Porchfest Belleville 2011 was held on Saturday, September 24th.  The event hosted 21 acts performing on 19 stages and attracted hundreds of audience members from all over the region.  A “Kids-Porchfest” was a new addition to 2011′s event with a special performance by Andy Forgie in East Hill Park.

When is Porchfest this year?

• Saturday, September 24, 2011.  Rain or Shine!

What time does Porchfest start?

• Children’s show and BYOPicnic is from 11:30-12:30 in East Hill Park (Bleecker and Bridge)
• Official Kick-off is at 12:45 in East Hill Park
• All musicians at all venues will play from 1-4pm

Are there washrooms available in the neighbourhood?

• Yes!   At East Hill Park and The Quinte Tennis Club (Queen and Dufferin)

How will I know where the venues are?

• Maps will be available on the website after September 21^st so you can plan your own Porchfest route!
• Maps will also be available at each venue.

As an audience member, do you have any tips on how to make Porchfest fun?

• Pack a lunch, or hit the market / downtown for a ready made meal to enjoy at the Family show in the Park
• Bring your own folding chair in a bag
• Bring the kids in a wagon
• Bring snacks and drinks

How do I get around from venue to venue?

• Leave your car at home!  Walk, skate or bike to really enjoy the neighbourhood vibe!

I am a performer interested in playing at Porchfest.  What do I need to know?

• Sign-up early!  The deadline is Tuesday, September 20^th.
• Music should be appropriate for all ages.
• We will assume you will play for the entire 1-4pm allotment – if you only want to play one set, please let us know, and we can double up performers at certain venues.
• Please keep amplifiers at a reasonable level considering this is a neighbourhood event.
• Please let us know if you will be using amplifiers so we can arrange electricity with the Porch Hosts.
• Be prepared for rain or shine.
• Please arrive at your venue at 30 minutes prior to start time to set up.
• Please be respectful of the Porch Host and their home.

I live in East Hill and am interested in donating my porch.  What do I need to know?

• Sign-up early! The deadline is Tuesday, September 20^th.
• Please be available on the event day, a half hour prior to 1pm, to assist the musicians in setting up.
• Organizers will drop off signs and maps the night before, or morning of the event to be made available to the audience.
• Please let us know if there are any preferences or restrictions with regards to matching a musician to your venue
• Please let us know if electricity is NOT available for the musicians – most of the musicians will have amplifiers
• Please set up your venue as you wish – some hosts set up chairs, decorate etc – feel free to do whatever you want to make your Porchfest venue what you want it to be – there is no obligation or expectation of this – make of it what you wish…….
• Be prepared for rain or shine.
• Set any of your own guidelines as you see fit for the event on your property
• It is suggested that a Porch Host remain at your venue at all times during the event in case of any issues
• It is suggested that you inform your neighbours of your participation in Porchfest

I am participating in Porchfest, but have not yet been matched with a porch/performer – when do I hear back from you?

• The deadline for sign-ups is Tuesday September 20^th.   We plan the performer’s locations after this date.  We strive to make the best matches as possible with consideration of musical styles and locations – please be patient!   Maps will be finalized a few days prior to the event – you will be notified of your venue/musician at that time.
